Choosing the Perfect Color Palette

So you’re building your dream shoes, how exciting! Choosing your color palette can be equally fun and overwhelming. Here are some helpful tips for identifying what color palette best suits your wardrobe.

Start by choosing the color that the sole of the shoe will be. This is a great foundation to build from. Also consider your wardrobe, what color jeans/pants do you wear most often? If you’re someone who gravitates towards blacks and grey jeans then consider starting with a white or black sole for your shoe. If you’re someone who wears a lot of brown tones consider white, tan, or navy for your sole. If you enjoy a bright and colorful wardrobe shoe soles come in a variety of colors and we are happy to help you find that. From there ask yourself are you looking to wear these daily or are they meant to be a flashier item. If you are looking for daily wear choose a more neutral base. If you want something that will really turn heads look through your wardrobe and consider what colors you enjoy wearing the most and start building from there. For instance, if you drive a bright orange Lamborghini lets look into something with an orange palette to complement something you drive often.

After you have chosen the color for your sole lets start to build out the detailed design color palette. Please refer to the color wheel below for the following. Colors that are opposite of one another on the color wheel are complimentary to one another.

Complimentary Colors

Monochromatic color schemes can also create a balanced look within one key color. Monochromatic color palettes are an easy foolproof way to get a clean and sharp look. Please see examples of monochromatic color schemes below.

Analogous is another option for someone trying to create a simple yet colorful look. Using 3 colors next to one another in the color wheel is how this scheme is created as seen in the example below.

We have touched on how complimenting colors work. Remember that you can mix complimenting colors with monochromatic principles to create a truly unique color palette. Please see examples below of complimenting colors.
